Subject: The Invaders and their big UFO near the Earth...

"Satellites "... of unknown origin.

In its work " The new one on the flying saucers ", Editions "I have read", 1978,in France, the journalist Frank Edwards evoke and comment on the letter of August 27, 1966 made public with the press by Dr. J Allen Hynek, consultant scientific of the Air Force of the USA during 20 years (p. 144 with 152).Hynek fulfills also the functions of Director-Assistant of the " Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory " from 1956 to 1960, where he was a also chief of the service of studies of the roadbases of the atmosphere and of location of the satellites. Quotation, p. 151: " The equipment of location of the meteors and satellites as well as the radars, detected all of the anomalies which could not be identified, said Dr. Hynek. One must evoke here cases such as that of the strange photography of the "satellite moving arrière" catch in 1958, and embarrassing it report/ratio submitted by several teams of Moonwatch during the program of the Geophysical Year Internationale.Par "satellite moving arrière", it indicated an object achieving to it tower of the ground of Is in West, which does no object built on our planète.En in addition to, Dr. Hynek says that it had seen photographs taken by apparatuses of location of the satellites, showing unexplained trails, which, is appropriate it, were never identified. " end of quotation of the book of Frank Edwards. In its other work " Flying saucers, serious business ", Editions Robert Laffont, 1969, Frank Edwards mentions p. 184 to 187, the first setting on orbit of the capsule Gemini I, of April 8, 1964. " During its first orbit, this one was joined by four ordered objects of unknown origin in an intelligent way! "

To also see the remarkable book of the Major Donald E Keyhoe " Foreigners of space ", Editions France-Empire, 1975.Donald E Keyhoe was the person in charge for the NICAP, private organization of the USA, informed so well, which fought against the censure imposed by the soldiers. In his row, one counted a number of soldiers of high positions, of which the Admiral Hillenkoetter who was the first director of the CIA in 1947.Citations of his work, p. 179 to 181: " Since 1953, the Staff knew that giant vessels operated in the vicinity of our planet. Last nine times at least, they had been seen or located in orbit. They were sometimes descended more close from the Earth for briefs moments. Each one of these descents had been a test for the critics, constrained "d' expliquer" the reports/ratios which they could not escamoter.Au course of the year 1953, the Air Forces had carried out experiments with a new material radar with long range. Dice the first tests, the operators had the surprise to locate a gigantic object according to an orbit close to the equator. Its speed was close to 28.000 km per hour. Successive checks confirmed the first data. An unknown object made it tower of the Earth to thousand kilometers of altitude. Little time after, second object, such an enormous, approached the Earth. The experts radar operators of USAF followed it. It was put into orbit at the altitude of 600 km.Alertés, the chiefs of the Defence Department launched in urgency a project for the detection of the satellites in White Sands, in New Mexico. The scientific expert in charge of this secret research was Doctor Clyde Tombaugh, the scientist who had discovered the Pluton planet, the only known astronomer who admitted having seen a UFO. The group of studies was "Interarmes" under control of the Research centre of Armée.En February 1954, plans for the research of the satellites had been exposed in an article of the Astronomical Company of the Pacific. Quoting Dr. Tombaugh, the writer announced the recourse to new telescopic equipment. Writing well before the launching of the program of the ministry for Defense, it had not made any mention of giant vessels of space. The operation was presented like having to be a search for natural objects. But the journalists suspected a mystery. In White Sands, the senior officials of the Army were badgered with questions: were there currently unknown satellites? From which did they come? How much were they? This was the first time that one noted their presence?Les critics wanted at the beginning to choke the business, but Doctor Tombaugh managed to convince them of the inopportunity of the step. March 3, an official explanation was, with the approval of the Pentagon, presented at White Sands: it was a question of seeking natural objects come from space, left "little moons", "mini-moons" who had placed themselves in orbit around the Earth. One had been able so far neither to observe them, nor to detect them by radar, added the official spokesman, because they followed orbits close to the equator, zone where one had few observatoires.Il would have also been necessary cameras pointed automatically according to the angular velocity of the satellites. In addition, the ordinary cameras could not reveal these objects whose lighting was very weak. The goal of the Armed Forces was to locate the mini-moons usable as space bases missile launcher for the defense of the pays.Aucune mention was not made a possibility of an intelligent control exerted on these unknown satellites. They were presented implicitly like asteroids. Without plus.L' explanation was absurd. That asteroids come from space in a number, can all, without any control, to take the precise course placing them in terrestrial orbit, is unthinkable. Quleques days passed where the Pentagon feared a snub in the press. It felt its all the more uncomfortable position as if the version of the mini-moons did not take, it would have opened itself the door with the only plausible explanation: the presence of spaceships. And the least article with feeling would start again the fear of a space migration, towards our Ground. " end of citation.Pages 184 & 185, the Major Donald E Keyhoe adds: " In 1955, the famous journalist Stewart Alsop attacked the critics vigorously. Very introduced into the governmental mediums, and in particular with the NSC (National Security Council), the National Council of Safety, Alsop had been informed of the true mobile of the emergency programme of detection of the satellites. A new group of study in Mount Wilson doubled that of White Sands recently. On all the chain of press of which it laid out, Alsop revealed the intense activity of search for artificial satellites. This mini-moon deflating unchained the furies of the Pentagon and the NSC. Alsop repeated soon, depicting the anger of the secretary of the NSC, an anger such as his/her best friends within the organization did not dare more to be shown with lui.La censures sky was reinforced, the reports/ratios on the space colossi put at the refrigerator. Vain precautions. Between the meshs of the protective net slipped by in 1960 a characteristic business. August 25 of this year, a mysterious satellite was detected, then followed to the radar during several days. Grumman Aircraft Corporation, aircraft industry American known well, could photograph it, and any attempt to deny the authenticity of the photographs was vaine.Le May 18, 1961, news discovered of a mysterious object on terrestrial orbit. The advertisement surprises more especially as it comes from Smithsonian Observatory, the observatory of Cambridge in Massachusetts, which takes an active part in the world network of detection of the Air Forces. Smithsonian specified with the press: the satellite was seen initially in Jupiter, in Florida... up to now unforeseen and unsuspected. It is very brilliant and can, under certain conditions, being seen with the naked eye... The various observation stations on all the Earth were requested to help us with the suivre.L' observatory also alerted all its device of telescopic cameras. " End of citation.Le November 14, 1964, the R.P. Benito Reyna, director of the Adhara observatory, in San Miguel close to Buenos Aires, could see an UFO achieving various precise operations, like a kind of simulated combat, against the terrestrial satellite Echo II (Henry Durrant, " The black book of the flying saucers ", Editions Robert Laffont, 1970, p. 156 & 157)...

For those which would still doubt a censure on the UFO operated by our tops (ir)responsables, here what occurs... to France. The ufologist F S., very serious, directed a Group of study on the UFO of which I made recipient, and published a review in the Seventies - 80. He had even the reputation to be more the skeptic on the UFO among the ufologists. A few years ago, I frequently met F.S. in Paris. Here what he says to me: " I knew a scientist who worked at the observatory of Saint-Michel-l' Observa-toire, in High Provence, France. One Sunday, while there was nobody, it made me visit this observatory. Being on external rambarde, I was intrigued by an apparatus which was installed there. That resembled a scientific letter-box américaine.Le revealed me that this apparatus was a very elaborate camera, with a very open angle of 180°, pointed towards the sky... to photograph UFO! ! ! "Comme tells me F S. so well: " Officially, the flying saucers do not exist! " Without comment...

Subject: USA had possessed Aliens Invaders !...

Dear friends, hello

On this site, to open and read in particular the two following déclassifiés documents of these scientists of very high level:

Nov.. 21, 1950: Smith' S Secret signal memo to the Dept. of Transport.

Nov.. 29, 1983: Letter from Dr. Robert Sarbacher to William Steinman.

These two documents meet and prove that the United States had possessed Alien Invaders...

Their constitution enabled them to support very strong accélerations and désaccélérations, like the constitution of the insects...

Dear guys: I read about the scheduled episode being replaced by the baseball game. I read a news account about a woman who suffered a fatal head injury during a street melee after the game. People actually get killed because of this bullshit nonsense!! But you never hear about any melees or riots breaking out because of any cancellations of "THE INVADERS"!! PS A friend of mine has indicated an interest in coming with me to NYC in April to attend the Roy Thinnes Dinner of Honor. So keep us in mind, as I keep my friend posted about the event. WE DO WANT TO ATTEND!! Lindsay

No explanation on when the epiosde will be shown. TV Times said it was the last of the series. What is going on? Will I ever get to see my favourite episode, The Watchers? Come on Channel 5. Remember, like I said, The US Baseball World Series (Boston vs St Louis) is being shown here in The States exclusively on The Fox Network, which is owned by Australian mogul/billionaire Rupert Murdoch...HE owns the rights to broadcasting it world-wide so it makes sense to conclude that he owns a major piece of CH5 as well..Don't blame The US--blame 'Stralia!...In any event, my notes for THE CONDEMNED were posted by me beforehand..

I see that you made reference to my mentions of Dr Hynek and Clyde T..I am also familiar with the name Keyhoe, he started 'Project Blue Book'..Have you ever looked into the name 'Lonnie Zamora"?..It was in April 1964 in a very famous UFO landing incident in Socorro NM that he (as a gendarme) actually turned around the UFO thinking of Dr Hynek, who then went from de-bunking them to believing in them....And it is no accident that The Invaders took place in New Mexico in THE MUTATION, THE LEECHES, THE IVY CURTAIN, and THE MIRACLE..(Possibly THE SAUCER too)..And as I have previously posted, the UFO under-carriage shots on The Invaders were based on and inspired by faked 1950s photos of half-cut tennis balls attached to a fake UFO model..

I hope you guys didn't get any seizures over the sudden Baseball coverage that cut into our favourite show's first season conclusion. This is the UK Channel Five's website (www.five.tv) if you need to see if they re-schedule this episode for next Saturday. I hope they do! I knew that there would be "raising hell" on this site because of this. I remember this show from it's first run on WABC-TV in New York on Wednesday nights. It should be on DVD by now! My favourite episode is the "The Saucer" and I feel that "The Peacemaker" had the potential to end the series, well for at least a generation. Sadly, this series had suffered the same fate as many others, abrupt cancellation! I thought the Mini-Series (1995) was awful and was far from picking up the story from where it was cut off. Well as you gathered I was a child of the sixties and will contribute some radical comments here in the future. Later!

.... and 'hear, hear' regarding that Godawful 1995 mini-series!!!!

Fully appreciate the rest of your remarks - food for thought. And yes, it never occurred to me before but THE PEACEMAKER would have made for a much more appropriate conclusion - if not to the series as a concept, then at least to the 'second season' - than THE INQUISITION (which appears to be no great favourite among fans on this discussion forum). Would have made sense to have had that episode shuffled to the end.

I don't know how committed a fan you are Tom, or indeed how far you live from New York, but there are plans afoot to hold a dinner-style evening with Roy Thinnes as guest of honour. Full details have already been posted twice a while back, but it's probably time I put it up here again. Whatever, I'll be e-mailing you off-list shortly regarding this.

Cheers for now Tom, welcome to the fold and look forward to hearing more from you. Phil.

A prime opportunity for Channel 5 to show The Invaders if ever there was one.

We could be forgiven for thinking that Channel 5 were the most 'Sci-Fi friendly' channel, as they've run theme evenings before - at least twice to the best of my memory, on both occasions including the first Invaders episode BEACHHEAD.

Still, it WAS a 'last minute' cancellation due to over-run of the earlier program which happens a lot on all channels over the years (especially after Tennis and Snooker tournaments).

Subject: Chicago, haunted(in a friendly way), and Good Beer!

I don't remember Chicago in a "spooky" way; BUT-then, again, When someone has a happy childhood, and grand memories of School and Friends, then no matter what the geographical setting, "that" place becomes a "positive" memory- Most people(negative types)find Chicago a Giant City, lots of factories and gentrified Snobs--etc., and the main complaint is the Weather- Definately FOUR seasons--Sometimes all 4 in the same DAY!

What I do remember is, Because of it's close proximity to Wisconsin, there was a "Fresh Beer on Tap" thingy about Chicago--a man's town- But, as I say, When one's memories are fond; then the city becomes a fond memory. For me, I hold Chicago dear to my heart- Especially when it is 40 degrees below zero, and I am in Florida in February- YES--I hold Chicago "dear to my heart" then the most!! haha! Asfaras it being "haunted"? Yeah--Most of the planet is haunted. That is why I cannot figure out why "Aliens"--"...light years ahead of us..." *(As John Milford said, while Donald(Alien)Davis was taking a nap)...would even consider coming to this planet? I mean, I believe Aliens have "checked" us out-BUT why they don't hang around? "It's 'cause we're the ALABAMA OF THE UNIVERSE--That's why!!" (I live in Florida, so we make fun of Alabamans all the time)!

As for Miami-- (another positive mental state issue)--after having come to Miami for University, and getting married and having two nice boys, and making a decent business, and nice living--meeting people, Humans and aliens alike, MIAMI, too can be considered AGAIN by the negatives of the universe as a "hell-hole"--but Cubans are risking their lives to swim, float anything to get here; and I made a nice family life for us here in Miami--so, Again Memories are good for me here in Miami-- And it is FULL OF ALIENS!

Hi guys

As a fan of The Invaders this is my first contribution to this chat page. Anyway I thought I should let you know that I had today spoken to Channel Five about the episode "The Condemned" which wasn't shown on Sunday morning and I was informed that Five will be showing this episode on this coming Sunday morning. Therefore the showing of the start of series 2(Episode Condition:Red)will naturally be put back to the week after. I hope that this will answer concerns that UK viewers will have had over the episodes that Five will be showing in the future.

Kind regards

Mark

Hi Cliff

Thanks for that. Whatever the taboo on dealing in bootleg recordings of any kind, in the absence of any official release then a near-perfect DIY set must be as good as it gets for many fans - and who can blame them!

Checking the older Archive pages on this site recently (going back a year or more), I came-across a few messages from different folk either offering their own home-made DVD recordings for sale, or seeking to produce them from VHS source. For this reason, I imagine Invaders DVD sets will feature frequently on E-bay....

The reason I'm playing devils's advocate (sort of) here is that a little birdie tells me the release of an official DVD set by Paramount is held-up by contractual issues left unresolved after Quinn Martin's death in 1987. Of course, the few Invaders episodes released by Worldvision on VHS in 1988 appear to have 'slipped through' OK (they may have already been in production a year or more beforehand), but Roy Thinnes himself is as keen as the rest of us to see this remedied.

For what it's worth, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. has encountered the same problem with the release of "The F.B.I." (sorry Jim, that should have read "The Eff Bee Eye").

Alternatively, please e-mail me directly if you don't want your proper address known here - rest assured it shall remain confidential!

GO REDSOX!

Come on you Invaders fans - the World Series is once a year (or much less if you're a RedSox fan).

Baseball is always an all-nighter. What do you expect? Of course such an important series is going to affect your show!

One thought though... why get up at 4.10am to watch it? Haven't you ever heard of a VCR? If the baseball runs late, or Invaders isn't shown at all, you didn't get up for nothing!

I understand getting up to watch a boxing match or some 'special event' live but a recorded (old) TV show? Why???

Hi Mike

I take it that, as you've called-in on this site, you're an Invaders fan as well as RedSox?

Whether or not you have equal loyalties on this issue (with a leaning towards the baseball, methinks), I must agree that you've made a valid and rational point or two.

That said, for dyed-in-the-wool Invaders fans who HAVEN'T been fortunate enough to have recorded the series on VCR from previous years' broadcasts, occasions such as the recent Channel 5 showing are positively gold-dust. Sure, most folk have a VCR which can record at set times, but in many regions still without access to cable or satellite TV reception, the Channel 5 analog signal is often very weak and provides a 'snowstorm' picture effect which is looks even worse on video!

Although my Channel 5 reception is just as bad as this, I'm lucky enough to have a good-quality video copy of (almost) the entire series. However, my heart goes out to those who don't, and I feel especially sorry for last Sunday's 'early risers'. That said, it only looks as if they'll have to wait a week to see the episode in question....

Anyway Mike, I hope you enjoyed the baseball in any event!

Subject: signal quality on Invaders episodes shown on Five

Hi all

I must say that I agree with the points made by Phil in his last e-mail about the quality of The Invaders episodes shown on Channel Five. The analog signal for Five in my part of the world(West Midlands part of the UK)isn't brilliant at the best of times and the picture quality of an episode recorded from Five on the VCR is worse when played back than if I had stayed up myself and watched it in the early hours of Sunday morning. Mind you, I went away for a week to a holiday camp in North Wales back in August this year and they didn't even have Channel Five there full stop. It meant that I wouldn't have been able to watch episode 7 NIGHTMARE which Five were showing at that time. That's where something called a VCR is useful for situations like that. Roll on the official release of The Invaders on DVD.

Regards

Mark

Hey, Mate! Yeah--I like Baseball; but when it interferes with "regularly scheduled programminng"--I'm with you- Sincere condolences to you- I am datiing, however, a West-Indian lady--I should stand corrected--she is an American lady, of Jamaican and Scottish heritage--and THEY play CRICKET in South Florida, where I live, and it seems to be a popular sport amongst British West Indians.

But, no "match" for our "Invaders"!

Take care,

Subject: Aliens get hungry, too...

I did a bit of "searching" on the Archives--and Needless to say, I LOVE your critiques(to all loyal aficionados of "The Invaders"--) more than the show itself. NO disrespect to Roy. Please--Heaven's forbid. Personally, I like the acting. But, my "hook" on this show is not so much the "Alien" or "Space" thingy--remember, I was 12 when this show first came out; But NOW--as I pass through my second childhood--This show brings back fond memories of my Grammar School days--of which I was NOT allowed to Watch TV pass 9:00 --and in Chicago, the Second series(1968) was on later than the first on ABC. But, all in all, I do get a great kick out of this show-- And it is TRULY ROY'S acting that takes the cake.

Does anyone realize that There was a THEME SONG difference in only ONE episode of all the --what was it? 43? Only ONE episode was a variation of the exit Theme different.

TRIVIA QUESTION(we KNOW JIM XNYCKID will KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS ONE)

WHICH IS IT?

CLUE: Dominic Frontiere did the music for ALL of them- Jasmine looks like "who"?

Secondly-- ALIENS DO EAT. I read that a few archives back. OF COURSE ALIENS love FOOD. In fact, word has it that the Aliens--along with Castro and Al Qaeda, are hoping John Kerry and John Edwards win next Tuesday--because--first, they will assist ANYONE with the demise of the Planet; and second, they can put into action their own(*aliens are learning about our court system)Class action suit against Fast Food chains, because Aliens, too Believe in NOT taking responsiblity for their own actions, and have been gaining a considerable amount of weight lately, and Ed Asner is now the Aliens' spokesperson for the "FATTENING OF ALIENS IN AMERICA" campaign--

Ted Kennedy has already put forth a bill of "Antidiscriminatory Federal Civil Rights Legislation for the Protection of Aliens" And, he believes stongly that Aliens should be able to purchase cheeper Regeneration Tubes from Canada.

BUT--YES--Aliens DO eat.

"The Believers" showed that the Aliens have these neat kinda Cafeterias, behind the Portal, with "Nurse" like Catering Ladies providing a "ready-made" lunch for aliens(and any human guest that may be hanging around their 30 foot below the surface Alien hang-out. Who said the Aliens weren't hospitable?

Another potential Civil Rights violation. (hear that, Ted?)

Take note how "hostile" David Vincent was when he "Tore-off" the Aluminum Foil from his neat little Lunch--while nice, well mannered aliens were so politely drinking their coffee.

How hostile of David Vincent.

Perhaps "Ted" has a "Sensativity Course" that David can attend to learn how to properly manage his anger.

That was not only inhospitalbe on David's part; but I think it was racist. Aliens have rights, too.

Boy, oh Boy--things would be a lot different now if "The Invaders" were on in 2004 rather than 1968.

David would be in some sort of mental institution; not because he "thought" aliens were here and no one believed him; but Because he simply was completely insensative to the terrible conditions that the Aliens experienced back home on their "dying planet" and we have to learn to be more sensative to this.

Tolerance is the key to a civilized society.

Paulie

It's bad enough trying to record C5 in bad areas, but when you have a terrestrial box (digital)then you can record a clear image.... But then, when you add that the TV, Video and Terrestrial box are all interconnected by normal RF fly leads (cords)then trying to set up the video is an absolute NIGHTMARE (especially Saturday night!) I thought I had recorded the wrong channel by mistake and was well pee'd off until reading the messages on this site. Now looking forward to next Sunday.....Sad but true!

hey, Lindsay--I hope at least you got a chuckle from that one!

I work in the Criminal Justice system, and though I am not Cynical(I hope not), I DO tend to think we get caught up in our own "pompous" and unrealistic view of almost everything!

But, outside of that, I went pretty far with that, "...should be able to purchase cheaper Regeneration Tubes from Canada..."

In any event two things to you, my dear(tolerant) friend:

One, I owe you a drink(at least) for my flip, panic-related knee jerk reprimand- So ARE YOU GOING to TRY to make Roy's Dinner? YOU are a lot closer to NYC than MIAMI! I sure hope so. It is going to be a great tribute to our hero, and there are some real nice people who are trying to make it happen for US as well. Believe me. First class people.

Secondly, did you get a chance to see that Movie with Burgess Merideth? "Mine own Executioner"? By the way, that passage was taken from a middle ages theologian named John Donne--a Catholic theologian who became an Episcopal Priest and wrote just hundreds of "Devotionals" in the early 1600's- What men, eh? People who wrote and dedicated their time and effort for the betterment of others. Sort of like we do here. (oh, God--how blasphemous)-

In any event, "IF" you get a chance to see this movie, it was old "Penguin's" finest hour--believe me--and He was just a young man when he made that movie- 1947, and it is British, to boot(hear that, Phil?)!

Please try to make the dinner party.

I have 10 already in my group. And, please listen my dear aficionado and friend- This is going to be just a dinner; like dignified and not a convention.

I just plan to take some of Jasmine's spinning hypnocrystals and only one Death disc with me--

JUST KIDDING!

Not a "star-trek" nonsense thingy- Just a get together with a great actor and friends.

Please try to make it; and let Phil know ASAP- we are going to put a date-to "close" the reservation thingy soon.

Please, try to make it. You are one of our great contributors.

Thanks-

Paulie

Hi Paulie me old chum!

Sorry if I didn't inform you via our off-list contact (didn't I?) but Lindsay has already expressed his interest a couple of weeks ago - and may possibly bring along another pal who's a fan of The Invaders.

I've also had positive responses from Lisa Sargent and Peter Reynolds (both UK), and of course our dear friend Christian Mace from La Belle France (although I'm still waiting to hear from him if he's made off-list contact with fellow fans and countrymen Fred and Didier). And I've MANY more to e-mail yet....

Regarding the venue, I've received another mail from John. You'll recall he previously advised that Roy is not vegetarian (and I presume his wife isn't either), and that Chris' Steak House would be agreeable. However, I'm told Roy himself has come up with an alternative suggestion of his own - The Metropolitan Museum Of Fine Arts (a.k.a. "The Met") of which Roy is a member. It's located on 5th Ave and 84th St, has function rooms that can hold from 10 to 60 people and caters for dinner functions. Once I've made enquiries and if all involved are happy to go with it, Roy will gladly make the arrangements!

For further discussion on and off-list. As for you Paul, thanks a million for all the continued support and contstuctive comments. I'll phone you in the not-too-distant-future once I've e-mailed the rest of my "list" and got some more responses.

Cheers for now folks, hearty greetings to one and all of you out there!!!!

While I'm no fan of baseball myself, your comments are uncalled-for and you owe Jim, Paul, Lindsay and the rest of our fellow U.S. fans an apology (even though Paulie's made light of it, bless him).

No-one there can FORCE Channel 5 to broadcast their sporting events - or indeed anything else, for that matter! It's the TV company's own schedulers who decide what's broadcast, and if they chose to show baseball they sure as hell don't need to go cap in hand to Uncle Sam!

And if Rupert Murdoch has the power to influence their program scheduling to that extent, then so be it - direct your anger at him (he's from "down under" remember?).

Likewise, I'm sure the cricket fans Paulie mentioned who wish U.S TV WOULD broadcast test match cricket DON'T hold us Brit's to blame!!!!!

Subject: Greetings

Hi, everyone,

Back after two months on business in a 3rd world country, where internet access was almost non-existent. I haven't had time to look at the postings I've missed, but this site has increased enormously in hits over the last couple of years and I doubt whether I shall get round to reading all the messages from the past two months. Luckily, I have all the complete Invaders episodes on video (soon to be transferred to DVD on a new Panasonic E85H), but I have missed reading Jim's notes on each one, and contributing from time to time.

What I have noticed is that there is some sort of celebratory dinner planned with Roy Thinnes in attendance. Can anyone say, when, where and how much?

To Phil - I'm not keen on giving out my e-mail address, even privately, at the moment. Don't take offence, but I'm still recovering from the tons of spam that my last i.s.p. let through.

Just a couple of Invaders comments: 'Panic' was a favorite episode always - it had the most realistic view of a saucer, in my opinion. The shots in 'The Ivy Curtain' and 'The Betrayed', good episodes though they were, were of rather blurred saucer images.

I was never as fond of the 2nd series for various reasons, the quality of the music being one. I have music cue sheets for many episodes which show who the composers were, and in my opinion, no-one ever caught the brooding menace of the show like Dominic Frontiere did.

Regards.

Hi Taugus

Thanks for getting in touch, hope you've had a rewarding and interesting time while away.

With regards to your e-mail address, no problem if you don't want to advertise it here but I myself shall DEFINITELY need to have e-mail contact with you if you're interested in our planned 'get-together'. So, as soon as you've decided one way or the other, please e-mail me (address as show above) - I can assure you I shall NOT pass your address on to anyone else!

Scroll two messages up (mine of 1:51 pm U.K. Time today) and you'll see my latest update on how things are progressing. The rest of the details are as per my original posting - sent here twice previously, but long overdue a 'reminder'. Please note, no cost details have as yet been established, as a lot will depend on how many of us intend being there. Not mentioned in this message is the fact that John has also sent me some photos - one of Roy and his bride, also three of his paintings - none of which, to the best of my knowledge, have appeared elsewhere.

So, here's the message I first used to 'broadcast' on this page that Roy was interested:

"I have been contacted off-list by a gentleman who states he is a close personal friend of Roy's, and for whom he acts as agent. I have no reason to doubt his word, safe to say I have been given a lot of information about Roy which has (to my knowledge) never been discussed on this or any other website, and which goes a long way toward answering a number of queries many of us have raised.

His name is John Edwards, and lives in Houston. He checks-out the chat page every couple of weeks or so, and has posted once. He has passed-on our idea of a 'dinner-evening' style event to Roy, and I am advised he is interested.

The most important thing to note is that Roy now lives in New York, therefore this is where it would take place. Also, this will of course suit any attendees flying in from the UK, France, Germany and elsewhere in mainland Europe.

First and foremost, John has asked me to get as clear an indication as possible of the number of likely attendees. I suggested April or May time next year, which he provisionally approved - although Roy's schedule may subsequently dictate otherwise. Roy also insists that it does NOT carry a 'sci-fi' theme as such - obviously due respect will be paid to The Invaders, plus Roswell and other serious UFO-related topics, but NO banner-waving 'Trekkie'-style paraphernalia please! Please also note, Roy has recently re-married and would attend with his new bride, possibly along with another couple who he knows.

Furthermore, Roy currently devotes much of his time to his painting (which is of a standard John rates highly) and might agree to show some of his work. I would like to think this could provide an opportunity for us to procure 'giclees' and possibly even originals. However, John makes it clear Roy would NOT especially be seeking to make money from these, nor indeed from the event itself. That said, we being the sponsors will of course pick-up the tab for him and his wife, as well as cover any other expenses he may incur.

All those interested, please let me know either on-list and/or by private e-mail ASAP (please note new e-mail address PhilsGameOn@AOL.com). Likewise, please inform anyone not part of our chat group who you believe might also be interested."

So Taugus my friend, over to you....

Subject: My dear friends Phil, Lindsay and the rest of the Loyal Clan-(sounds a bit Irish; eh?)

This Suggestion of the "Metropolitan Museum of Art" is a great idea. First and foremost, remembering that THIS DINNER party is for OUR hero, Roy--and his lovely new Bride. I only hope our mentor and grand supporter of this event, the right HonoUrable MR EDWARDS(and I don't mean Senator Lawsuit)attends.

To all those who are loyal and devoted aficionados, "hear ye, hear ye" I can attest that the "behind the scenes" factions who are Bending over Backwards to assist "US" in making sure this event takes place are of the HIGHEST CALIBRE OF PEOPLE ONE CAN EVER MEET IN ONE'S LIFE-- So, for those of you who have NOT YET committed to the dinner-- Please keep in mind, not only are we going to experience a once-in-a-lifetime event with our hero, Roy-*who is getting up there in years, now), but they too are HonoUring "US" by facilitating this on our behalf- So hat's off to the "man behind the scenes" and Roy, himself. This is going to be not only a great time for us; but, a great time for us to know one another in person, and be with our hero and his lovely new bride.

As Tiny Tim said, in the Dickens classic, "The Christmas Carol"-and for all of you Brits who remember one of the greatest actors of all time, the Right, great Scotsman, and "Professor of Elocution" Alistair Sim(who played Scrooge), "God bless us--everyone"- said, the late Glyn Dearman(Tiny Tim).

So, let's remember, we must be in earnest, and keep to our word.

As I said, those who are working "Behind the Scenes" to make this testimonial happen, I assure you all--as Phil can be my witness--are of the HIGHEST CALIBRE of people-- So, let's respond in kind, and when one makes a commitment, we keep it.

UPDATE:

"Alien Regeneration Tubes" are still being manufactured somewhere near Chicago; but the Food and Drug Administration, still will not approve of them being sold back to the USA from Canada; so, for all you aliens, who were hoping to save some money this coming year--Forget it- you have to purchase them through your local insurance carrier. Unless,of course, you(aliens) are residing in Canada; and then you will have to be put on a list of "priority cases" sort of like a triage--so you can get approval from your local Provincial Insurance Authorizing Agent-

By that time, most Canadian Aliens/Aliens Canadiens--will have degenerated, and "THAT" my aliens friends, is what that darn socialist health-care system is banking on-- Alien attrition.

Same in USA with Social Security- They just hope we pass away before we can reap our entitlements.

Well, we truly are an "equal" society-- Aliens and humans alike cannot get justice in neither the free-enterprise sytem, nor the socialist system.

Are you sure you aliens really want to live on this Planet?

Paulie.

Nice touch - however, I think we're getting a little into 'Chance' territory here.... after all, among your fellow U.S. correspondents here may well be a couple of Kerry supporters.

As a Brit I have no vested interest in taking sides here and have no special axe to grind with regard to personalities, who did-or-didn't-do-what in 'Nam, the war in Iraq, etc. etc. However, to me and most Brits I compare notes with, while I wouldn't trust either candidate to go out and fetch my weekly grocery shopping, Mr. Bush is truly the biggest 'alien' of them all!

Dear Kiwifrank: One idea to replace "Reds/Invaders" with, would be "Al Qaida/Invaders", since that seems to be the biggest threat to the western world now. However, "THE INVADERS" always came across to me as not being concerned with religion, per se, similar to the reds, who claimed to be atheists. But religion aside, it is the threat and the action that is taken into account, and the paranoia that they cause. Plus, while the present enemy does have "overt", or open aggression operations going on, and reveal their title to the world, they still have plenty of guerilla warfare "covert" operations as their greatest weapon, the weapon of secrecy, as has "THE INVADERS". Anyway, there are a couple of tidbits for you to consider. PS: I am happy for your new website. LONG LIVE IT!! Lindsay. PSS Remember also, that the big attacks that got this whole thing started hit The Big Apple and Washington D.C./Arlington Virginia, two big prominent cities that are mentioned many times in "THE INVADERS" Quinn-Martin series!!

"Hi, Phil--Great one! Oh, No---"no Chance"! I am not Political-In fact, I beat them both up equally! I am just kidding on that "Regeneration Tubes from Canada" thingy! Anyway, Things are looking good for the Dinner, my dear friend, Phil.

Lindsay is a great contributor, and we have some good guys here.

Soon, however, we are going to have to make an anouncement of a "cut-off" day for all of us to either "commit" or be counted "out."

You and I will get together, Phil--Off-line--and hammer out the details.

I hope you get a kick out of my diddys.

I believer you are right about "...biggest alien of all..."

!

REMINDER: To all Aficioinados who may be planning the trip to NYC to attend Roy's Testimonial dinner--I cannot emphasize more strongly, that the quality of people that we are dealing with behind the scenes here, of the of HIGHEST INTEGRITY--so, let's demonstrate that we are worthy of this favor.

There are some people who are actually "working" for "US" here, to make this happen. What we are doing for Roy--we are actually doing for ourselves, here.

So, let's try to make it.

Phil---as they say in music, "...take it.."

"run with this ball, buddy.."

Hi Paul

Good thinking, with you all the way there. I'm of the same persuasion here i.e. any party I vote for is always a choice between "the lesser of (however many) evils". Indeed, we've got a TV satirist trio called Bremner, Bird & Fortune who do a fanastic job of making mash of the whole sorry lot of them!

As for the dinner event - first-off, regarding a comment you made in a previous posting about whether it could take place sooner than April, I would respectfully suggest not. Apart from giving us transatlantic 'jet-setters' a chance to re-accumulate funds following the huge expense that is (usually) Christmas, April/May is already the focus of all or most who are 'on board' - including our friends "behind the scenes", I'd wager.

Regarding a designated "cut-off" for additional numbers, I fully agree. We'll chew over possibilities off-list, but I think we SHOULD give some slack to allow for those who'd like to come, but need more time to sort out their personal and professional situations before making any sort of commitment.

As for the venue itself, I'll make enquiries and keep you posted off-list. Thanks YET again (and again, and again....) for all the encouragement and continued support.

Hi, Barry,

It isn't actually an alien that gets killed walking in front of an airplane, it's a human in 'The Watchers', shortly into season 2 (episode 20). He was the owner of the lake lodge taken over by the aliens prior to a high-level meeting between government officials and the Paul Cook character. Beautiful scenery up there!

This information was given to me by Channel 5 when I spoke to them on 25/10/2004.

However if any fans know of any different schedules for the showing of Invaders episodes by Five to what I'd been told, then I would be most interested to hear about them as would all UK fans of The Invaders.

Subject: "...aliens taking over Insurance Companies..."

Yes--These aliens are learning our "Free-Market" system, and YES--they have definately taken over many of our Institutions.

Prescription drugs is what they have problems with.

The usual "suicide pills"--again thwarted by the US manufacturers, exporting them to Canada, then Canada selling them back to us-- No way, say the Insurance companies-- You see, In order for the Aliens now to get their Suicide pills, they too have to wait for a "Canadian Insurance Functionary" to approve of their requests--and by that time- while waiting for the shipment of Chicago-based manufactured Regeneration Tubes, to be shipped from Chicago, to Canada, and back to USA again, these aliens are bound to degenerate, and hence, "Don't sweat the Suicide Pills" is the Canadian Motto.

Clever, these Canadians-

In any event, "Phil" the Venue has been decided.

"Hear ye, hear ye" THE ROY THINNES TESTIMONIAL DINNER WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE MONTH OF APRIL OF 2005- (Exact dates to be announced). SO FAR, NO DEADLINE WILL BE SET FOR "LATE COMERS" but, AFTER THE HOLIDAYS-- WE WILL HAVE TO SET A "CUT-OFF DATE" SO AS TO FINALIZE THE NUMBER OF GUESTS IN ATTENDANCE"

We will not exceed a specific number. And, I am bringing about 10 in my entourage--ONLY one Alien will be in attendance.

And, Jasmine will not be there; but she is lending me her hypnobeamcrystal and one Death disc for any irate parking lot attendant who gets on our nerves.

After our guest list is completed, I will be sending you all newly manufactured Nokia Half-Egg Communicators--NO DIALING NECESSARY-- so we can keep in touch with one another, while hanging around Manhattan-

YES--the Two Italian cuties will be there--and my son, Dominic and Dora the FBI agent and two other people-- NONE of these people(except for Dominic) know who the "heck" Roy Thinnes is; or "THE INVADERS" for that matter; but WHAT THEY DO KNOW IS-- COUSIN PAULIE LIKES THIS GUY--and so they are coming for ME! (Or is it the Free Meal?)!

Anyway, It will be a great Dinner; a memorable one for ourselves--I for one, am looking forward to meeting PHIL-- LINDSAY(I owe you a Drink, or two for the Knee jerk thingy-and then you can buy me one--) and "IF" you are nice enough to me-I will let you dance with Monica and Cynthia-- OR, "they" will let you dance with them-- "THEY" may not even let Cousin PAULIE dance with them--

In fact, Monica asked me, "Paulie--Who is this Thinnes guy-?" "he is into aliens, too?"

Oh, God--PAWWWLLEEE--U R ReEELLLy GO win NuTZY awn NUSSS!"

"Couple of spins on that Hypnobeamer and Monica and Cynthia will be just fine!"

Dear Paulie: I can tell you right now, the aliens may as well pack up, and go back to their own planet, or find another one if they think they can take this planet over while foolishly depending upon humans and their dumb-arse insurance companies!! Next, they will be depending on our insurance companies approving the exportation and re-importation from Canada of cerebral hemorrhage discs, hypnotic prizms, occasional shipments of ray guns, and even their brain-washing and brain-probing machines!! In fact, I would be so bold as to sit down with alien leader, Mr. Nexis-Ryder, and "sadly" tell him: "Sir, it just ain't gonna work for your people that way!" Anyway, I have a replica of a cerebral hemorrhage disc that I made myself, plus a broken storage cooler temperature gauge that could possibly be a good thing to make an early model disc out of, given the right kind and color of paint!! If any of you are thinking of bringing any replicas of these things, remember, that if you travel by airliner, you might be stopped and searched, and go through the embarrassment of explaining what these little round disc-things are, and whether there may be powdered cocaine, or heroin inside of them!! Over and out! Lindsay

IN FACT, ANOTHER ABSOLUTE PREREQUISITE OF ROY'S IS--this is to be JUST A DINNER--(and we of course will conduct ourselves as dinner hosts/guests only), IT IS NOT GOING TO BE AN "INVADERS" Thingy-- HE IS INTO ART NOW--so, since he is the "guest of honor" I cannot speak for others; but I will do a lot of LISTENING to EACH OTHER--but As far as Roy Himself is concerned, I am curious to hear what he and his wife are into.

There will be ample time--I am sure--over cocktails, etc., to chat a bit about how much we "love the guy" and all that-- BUT IN NO WAY SHAPE OF FORM ARE WE TO THINK OF THIS IN A CONVENTION MODE-

I attended a Star Trek Convention(NOT FOR ME-I REALLY DISLIKED THAT SHOW-- CANNOT STOMACH SHATHER)- It was for my little boy, Henry--at that time--and We met the GREAT MARINA SIRTIS-- Mind you, it was not the Audience whos conduct was brought into question-- it was her's.

I mean, there were really young kids there--9, 10- and I mean this gal used vernacular that Truck Drivers would cringe at...

WHAT A PIECE OF WORK SHE IS!

So--this will be a really, gala affair-

It will be held at the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART in their CATERING FACILITY-

IT is GOING TO BE JUST GRAND!

Hi Lisa

Further to Mark Hookway's helpful comments, if what Channel 5 have told him turns out to be true - i.e. that they do indeed intend to show 'Season 2' straight after 'Season 1' (concluding with THE CONDEMNED, this weekend) AND there are no breaks in the weekly broadcast sequence - then THE WATCHERS should go out on the (early) morning of Sunday 21st November. The episodes preceding this should be CONDITION:RED and THE SAUCER.

[If anyone out there disagrees with this, please correct me if I'm wrong.]

Whatever, let's hope Channel 5 have no more unwelcome surprises up their sleeve!

Hi again Lisa, also Mark

Continuing from the previous message, looking again at Mark's first posting in which he mentions his phone call to Channel 5, I noticed that it isn't clear whether he asked specifically if they intend to show Season 2. The relevant extract reads thus:

"Anyway I thought I should let you know that I had today spoken to Channel Five about the episode "The Condemned" which wasn't shown on Sunday morning and I was informed that Five will be showing this episode on this coming Sunday morning. Therefore the showing of the start of series 2 (Episode Condition:Red) will naturally be put back to the week after."

Mark, can you clarify - is the reference to Series 2 in the last sentence based-upon your own deduction, or upon what Channel 5 definitely advised you?

I tried calling Channel 5 myself (0870 705 0505) but got a recorded message saying that there was no-one to answer my call due to a "staff awayday", and advising me to call in again from Monday 1st November onward!

Paul

And the top of the morning to you too my friend!

I've been in contact with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and will be e-mailing you either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Just one issue with what you mentioned in your earlier "announcement" regarding the dinner event: 'The Invaders' as such won't be a taboo subject for discussion, indeed I believe Roy and John are both aware that this is the main factor which has brought us all together, as well as his own main 'claim to fame'. If you see my original 'broadcast' message, which states:

"Of course, due respect will be paid to The Invaders, plus Roswell and other serious UFO-related topics, but NO banner-waving 'Trekkie'-style paraphernalia please!"

As you know, Roy is interested in the UFO phenomenon - hence his annual prescence at Roswell. I'm sure there will be no objection to discussions relating to his other acting roles, including Jeremiah Smith in 'The X-Files' as well as his appearances in 'From Here to Eternity' and various big-screen films. However, his enthusiasm for painting will of course be a main point of interest also.

Cheers for now, Phil.

Sorry for the "control" thingy--I get carried away with the OUTER LIMITS-

I am NOT going to control people's minds, nor suggest how they behave- I guess, in an abundance of caution, I just want to REMIND--(NOT REPRIMAND) us here that it won't be exactly a "Convention-Styled" affair- CERTAINLY the "INVADERS" is what brought us together--but, I just like to "read-the-crowd" sorta thing- and engage whatever the group wishes to discuss.

Monica and Cynthia will be so obvious in their "Beauty" as well as their "Nooo YAWkish" personalities, that perhaps we should be reminded from time to time that, "ohh--yeah--By the way, you are Roy---What did you say your name was?"

Subject: Hi Phil and Claira/Lisa

I thought that I should clarify what I had been told by Channel 5 about The Condemned and the showing of Series 2 episodes in my telephone call to them on 25/10/2004.

I started by asking them when they intended to broadcast The Condemned which as all UK viewers know was not shown in the early hours of 24/10/2004. I was told that it would be shown at 4.20am on Sunday 31/10/2004.

I then pointed out that the pages in various TV guides had got Condition:Red(first episode of series 2)to be shown on 31/10/2004 and asked therefore when they would be starting to show series 2 episodes. The lady I spoke to advised me that series 2 starting with Condition:Red would be shown from 07/11/2004 onwards.

Claira/Lisa, I hope this information is helpful to you and in answer to your question on when The Watchers is due to be shown,it would appear to be on 21/11/2004 since The Watchers comes two episodes after Condition:Red due to be shown on 07/11/2004.

So Phil you are absolutely right about the broadcast date of The Watchers based on the information that I was given by Channel Five.

I hope that my call to Channel Five has answered questions that UK viewers may have had on the showing of The Condemned and series 2. I only hope that Channel Five now stay true to their word following my phone call to them.

Regards

Mark

NTDR I have to say i totally agree with you about Star Trek.I was about six when The Invaders first showed in the UK and then it finished and Trek started. The first Trek episode i saw had Kirk fighting an alien called a Gorn and i remember thinking "this is stupid, thats just a man in a crocodile suit".It was downhill from there although when Trek finished they started showing the British series UFO which was excellent.

Subject: More Great acting!

Firstly, "hey--mate" to Phil--our CAPTAIN and most Worthy Co-Oridinator of our Imminent dinner party with our hero, Roy Thinnes. And, a grand hello to all our loyal fans and aficionados of this show, Roy, maybe ourselves here--and a special, Warm embrace and thanks goes out to our "Charlie"(like in Charlie's Angels") who has been assisting us in making this Testimonial for Roy(it's really for us, you know) a reality- Believe me, I cannot emphasise that the people who are helping us get this thing together are of the highest caliber. And it is an honoUr and a pleasure to work with people--at any level--of this yoke.

As for KEITH--I suggest you make contact with jim of (xnyckid)--he may be able to point you in a direction where you can get some nice, clean episodes of the Invaders-- Are you in USA? Because they have to be the NTSC type; not the PAL- on tapes-- They also have some DVD's.

I have them all. BUT I don't sell them. And, they are not all good quality.

My favorite is "The Trial."

Perhaps, because I work in criminal court!

In any event,

Getting to an Episode that was underestimated: "THE MUTATION"

There, AGAIN---Roy did another superb job in acting.

Check out the scene where he is in the Jeep with Suzanne Pleshette, and they start out on the trek through the desert-- Roy askes her, "How far is it?" She totally ignores him(Typical Alien? Or, Typical Woman?)! Roy goes on to say, "Look-I know I am not Paying you for KHAN Ver SAY shun (Chicago Accent is Strong there), but I have to know some things." She answers, reluctantly--as though it causes Aliens Pain to talk too much- *But she rambled on at the table the night before about how she saw a spaceship trying to turn over that old Chrysler engine- Watch how Roy's face --almost prefectly--breaths slightly hard, and fills is cheeks with air, like "man--this is going to be the longest treasure hunt in history with this jerk"!

Great actor. Great scene. Not a bad episode.

Edward Andrews --who played the Alien newspaper reporter, Evans, was excellent!

I always liked that actor. He played in TWO GREAT Twilight Zone episodes. One, with Fritz Weaver--and one where he accidentally hit a kid on his bicycle, and his '56 Ford began to mirror a conscience, and torment him until he finally(almost) did the right thing-- Not Quite-- If you ever get a chance to see it, it is called, "You Drive"-

My dad had a '55 Ford(6 volt) and it was nearly the same car- It was a Lemon and a half--but it was a pretty car for it's time.

It's probably still running--I think I saw it in Havana!

A question: I was looking carefully at the video quality of last night's episode and it did seem remarkably good. Is it possible that The Invaders has been digitally remastered? And is it mere coincidence that Ch5 are showing it as a "toe in the water" to see if enough people watch, so that a decision regarding a DVD release can be made??

nice too see the acts were back where they belonged in CONDITION-RED ,dont know why ch5 have left them out of most of the programmes ????? , thought it was strange at the start when the doctor gets dragged across the road down the bank and into the lake by the aliens ,usually its just a zap with their gun or a disk to the neck ,surely the police would have noticed more than one set of footprints near the lakes edge ,or dont they leave footprints ????

Subject: Hi Barry

Barry,it was myself who had contacted Channel 5 on 25/10/2004 to be told that they would be showing The Condemned in the early hours of 31/10/2004 and then series 2 from the week after.

It appears that I had been misinformed by Five when I discovered that they had decided instead to show Condition:Red earlier this morning. Also after looking through the TV pages yesterday that came with the daily paper,I could see that channel 5 were going to go ahead and show Condition:Red. I would like to have had the opportunity to query this with Five, but Phil Forster stated in one of his earlier postings that he had tried to contact Five on 29/10/2004,only to be told that staff were on a away day and to call back on Monday 01/11/2004.

Still despite all of this,it was nice to see The Invaders back on Channel 5 once more and I hope that there are no more hiccups with the showing of the series 2 episodes over the next several weeks.

And as for when channel 5 will get round to showing The Condemned, your guess is as good as mine on that I'm afraid.

Regards

Mark

Subject: Longer Pilot Episode

I have recently watched a copy of the 'unaired'? longer pilot version of BEACHHEAD and was wondering if anyone knew why two versions exist?

Has the longer version ever been aired? Was it a first cut before editing to shorten it's running time for broacast?

Thanks for any replies.

Ok so the clocks went back last night.I adjusted the VCR clock and set it to Videoplus. It showed BBC1.I set it manually and everything looked good. This morning i get up and discover it has taped some bunch of meatheads playing football.Swearing is verboten on this site so I"ll say-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------b+++++ds!Not content with that, instead of "The Condemned" they show one of my favourite episodes "Condition Red".Is this some kind of personal vendetta against me by C5 or natures way of telling me i should like sport? If my VCR wasn"t so expensive it would be wearing some bumps now!

Subject: "yeah--Chicago Roy mostly drinks Draught BEER"

Most of the times we see Roy Drinking during the series, he is downing a Beer-- "Draught Beer" to be exact.

Now, for me--Chicago Paulie--(though I have lived in Florida for 27 years-) "...you can take the kid out of Chicago; you cannot take the Chicago out of the kid..." I remember great Chicago Taverns--"Old Style Beer" -"ON TAP" meaning, "Draught-"

I don't drink too much at all; but I like Strongbow's Cider- Hear that, "UK MATES"?

ROY accepted a "Scotch" form the Airforce Major, married to his Alien wife-

By the way, Jason Evers was one of the lousiest actors in the entire series- Sorry to say, but I know good actors. ROY is one of the best actors in the entire industry-

In fact, do you all know that Roy was in an amazing, fantastic program with another Great, Fine, Legendary Actor, Luther Adler-- The name of the Program was "The Psychiatrist"--

In fact, Roy is looking forward to meeting "us" at his Testimonial, because it is obvious that "ALL" of us are suffering from some sort of Major Mental Disorder!

Just kidding--

Not "ALL" of us; Only half of us!

(I am definately part of that half!)

Subject: hello alan,

Are VCRs really expensive in The UK?..I bought my first one here in The States in 1986, a 2-head/mono Magnavox for about $225US back then..It actually lasted about 11 years..NOW, all the new popular 4-head/stereo models can be had here for say $49-79US, that general price area..Of course there is now built-in self destruction, much like 'Nomad', and they are ready for the garbage heap in about 2.5-3 years, but well worth it!..Fortunately for myself, all my 43 Invaders eps taped in 1991 on The SciFiChannel on that old Panasonic are still compatible with the several Y2K+-VCRs that I now have..BTW, if you saw CONDITION RED it means that next week you will get to see THE SAUCER, one of my VERY favorite eps..

Hi again alan, it was a Panasonic, not a Magnavox, as posted by me in a mixup..VCRs are unfortunately on their way out, the 'thing' is DVDs, and they are beyond me for now..jim

Despite completely forgetting about the clocks going back I managed to tape Condition Red, in my opinion a 'solid' Invaders entry. One to many implausibilities for my liking.

Interesting new Invaders gadgetry with the ring and headset. And an exciting scene at the end when the Invaders invasion force suddenly show up on the radar board.

But another episode which begins with David Vincent investigating something he read about in the paper. Where he finds to monitor all those newspapers is perhaps the biggest unanswered question in the series.

"Condition Red" was kind of exciting; and the "wife" was pretty effective as his "alien" wife; Unfortunately, Jason Evers' acting is dismal. But the supporting cast(many of the QM regulars) were excellent as character actors.

Again, our hero Roy did some magnificent acting--especially when one observes his persistence in the General's office&#
