Greetings!! I'm in Cleveland Ohio. I am a die-hard fan of "The Invaders", "The outer limits" and "Voyage to the bottom of the sea" as well as of Roy Thinnes and the music composer, Dominic Frontiere, who created the music themes for "The Invaders" and the old 1960's "The my top dog." I am so glad that there are still people out there, and in "internetland", that feel the way I do - being likers of the old science fiction of the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. I am not computer literate, so I am having friends send this e-mail on their computer! It puzzles and bothers me why the television broadcasting industry does not release and sell episodes of "The Invaders" to the public like they do with "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in", "I love Lucy" and "The Carol Burnett Show." I also keep asking myself and others the question: WHAT HAVE KOJAK, QUINCY AND STARKY AND HUTCH GOT THAT DAVID VINCENT AIN'T GO??!!! Also, on some cable stations, they still have the old "Leave it to Beaver", "Green Acres", "Beverly Hillbillies", "I dream of Jeannie", etc.... BUT THEY WILL NOT MAKE A SINGLE TIME SLOT FOR "THE INVADERS"?? I even noticed "Leave it to Beaver" being on 6 times in a row, back-to-back, I feel like writing letters of protest to these stations and asking (if not demanding) a little equal time for "The Invaders"! I also wonder if Roy Thinnes ever received an academy award as his role as "David Vincent"?
I am interested in locating Roy Thinnes and "The Invaders" fan clubs and talking to people like interests.
Anyway, Thanks for your beautiful "The Invaders" website, and I hope your sites gets plenty of "hits" for positive replies!
Jim, ha - I believe that's a misunderstanding. I didn't believe Roy Thinnes writes chat messages under pseudonym. Before your 'n-t-d-r message' I had another 'suspicion', but that's not important I found the thought amusing. Have read Marlon Brando's internet-pseudonym is 'Jim Ferguson' (I don't mean you), allegedly, who knows. B.t.w. thanks for the 'Florida-offer', but I'm 'rooted' in Germany.
But an interesting thought. Do you think Roy Thinnes knows Mr. Fincher's website (and the other INVADERS sites), particularly this chat page? I wonder if he reads the chat messages. Perhaps the 'INVADERS fuss' get on his nerves. In the meantime, have a nice day 'Mr. Brando'.
Concerning alien (invasion) movies:
Siegel's 50s classic is good, Kaufmann's 70s remake is better, A. Ferraras remake is unsuccessful. Devlin's/Emmerich's "ID4" has great special effects, but there's just one snag; the first part of this film is interesting and the second part of this film is unsuccesful (in my opinion) and the character, played by W. Smith, is a 'chatterbox'.
My personal favourites are: 'Body Snatchers' from the 50s and 70s, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (elegant flying saucer), "This Island Earth" (drama), "Forbidden Planet", "Earth vs. Flying Saucers" (great stop-motion effects by Harryhausen), "It Came From Outer Space", "thing film by H. Hawks and "Thing" film by Carpenter, "the Andromeda Strain" (extraterrestrial micro organism) by Bob Wise.

Jim is not my alter-ego; and It seems you have a lot to contribute to this great
website. I think with all of these new guys on the block; i.e. Jim, Frederic,
ExNYKID! the whole group are really good sports. Chance is my buddy, and though it
may seem as though I am Promoting him--The truth of the matter, I am. Why?
As a Conservatist(Check spelling), he has Earned my trust and confidence.
I have purchased things from him, and man--he is great. He even throughs in
little Perks, side "bonuses" and he really is a True Fan of this

am a Staunch Practicing Catholic(No Shame Here),I give you all my word, I am
not an alter-ego, nor am I a relative of Roy's(Shucks!), that can be 100 % substantiated;
but, If I am; He has no obligation to contact me--or anyone, for that
matter.
BUT I bet, IF we really pull this thing together as a team of TRUE adults
here, (Remember, he is getting old, now--and what better way to Honor our hero, thatn
by being Stand-Up and Honorable), I am SURE he will Honor US by attending some
organized convention.
The KEY here is "HONORABLE"--Let's do it!

I was sorry to see Russell Johnson play an Alien-He is a great actor; and
all around Nice Man--in person, too. He has had some personal Tragedies in
his life. I wish Russell Johnson well.

Fast forward to the "Cantina" Scene, where the little Mexican boy
Starts his clothes on fire in the kitchen; Our Hero, ROY--who probably would
do this in real life, too--runs to the little Chamaco's aid, and smother's
the fire out; but "burns" his arm badly in the process.
"Cold, Coffee Drinking, Maybelene, Revlon Nails PLESHETTE is
Cold as ever, sort of continues to drink her coffee;
Roy, on the other hand, gives that ASKANCE stare, of disgust, when dealing
with "IDIOTS"(Humans) and "ALIENS" alike.
She(IT) then comes to his aid, sort of, while he is putting water on his
badly burned arm, from a mere Clay Vase out in the courtyard--
He grabs her arm, "You're hurting me"--Roy's response--SUPER CHICAGO ACCENT:
" I didn't think that was PAAAAAAAAAASSSABLE"

XNYCKID--remembered her in "MUTINY" with Brando--one of the
siliest version of a Noble Captain Bligh's voyage--
They made Bligh out to be the bad guy; when the truth was, the
entire crew was Scum--And, by the way, Unlike Trevor Howard,
or Anthony Hopkins' version--The real Captain Bligh was only 28 years
old when this Mutiny occurred!
Antoinette is Canadian, I am sure.
She is not that pretty; but, yes Was one of the well wishers in
"Mutiny"--
She has done some wholesome Canadian Shows in the last
few years--"The Campbells" is one of them.
Is she still alive???

Actually, Roy is a great actor. But, doing that many episodes,
your are Bound to make some bloopers--
In "The Peacemaker" he mistakenly refers to the Leader Alien--whos
real name is Alfred Ryder--he pleads with him at the end, when they almost
get Bombed by Idiot Airforce General--who likes to Rough-house his wife--and
I get the feeling James Daly may be got a real "KICK" out of
those two scenes--Which were really a bit ODD--those two Roughing up
of his "episodic" wife--That was a shock; eh??
I did not expect those scenes; and I did not like them.
Getting back to the Blooper--Roy said, "...but, Mr. Ryder..."!!
He called him by his real name!
In the Two Part Epidodes--Summit Meeting, William Windom had to
ad-lib one of his "hotel-room" scenes with Roy--and Roy, noticeably
forgot his timing, and William Windom--Experience Experience!!--
ad lib'ed enough to put Roy back on track--
"Let me see that Shoulder"
Watch how Windom throughs that in to get Roy back on Track--
and how Roy got a bit nervous with his Cigarette--perhaps, Wondering "IF"
they were going to "CUT" --but they didn't.

greetings from cleveland ohio! i would like to say that i am a die-hard fan of roy thinness and of "the invaders" T.V. series of the 43 episodes of the Quinn Martin Productions.besides all of the other characteristics of the show, i am quite intrigued by real and familiar places that are mentioned or shown in certain invaders episodes. examples of this are the pentagon, washington D.C. and its various landmarks, and new york city with the brooklyn bridge and the southern manhatten skyline, as seen in the episodes "the experiment", and "task force". chilling, is it not? right where the 9 11 attacks took place!!!!!!! other places that come to mind are San Louis Abispo, Bakersfield, Santa Barbera, "the forgotten town of Kinny" and highway 166 in Southern California as relates to the episode "beachhead"!! if you check the N.Y.C. skyline, there are still at least two skyscrapers that can be seen today that were in those two episodes. i just thought i would like to make mention of this as a special point of interest to all of the invaders fans who like to imagine and recall that David Vincent and The Invaders were here!!!!!!!

Yeap--perhaps the "thinnes" e mail is a bit INVITING--but, I have
been using it since before I even got interested in THE INVADERS--and I ain't goint
to live my life like a paranoid democrat(or Republican, for that matter these days)
and "worry"--If I get into trouble being "Myself" --well, so be it.
I told you I was a Benedictine Student; and True Catholic--and I refuse to
bend to the "Popularity" contest.

THE show's writings were getting weak and inconsistent-

GOLIATH--and then the name, "VINCENT" from the Latin--"TO BE VICTORIOUS" or

There was someone on TV the other night banging on about how superior British TV was compared with the USA. They were talking comedy at first and then Sci Fi.
I grew up watching DR.Who and treated it almost as a comedy even as a youngster the effects, acting etc was so bad! Then this guy dared to suggest that we had the diffinative sci fi show in DR.Who compared to what the USA had to offer around this time. What a joke!
Had he ever sat and watched our Show?

Seemingly a lot of people have contacted Paramount, but so far I've nowhere read on a concrete reply / reaction by Paramount; apart from my Paramount reply in the last year. Does anybody believe that "THE INVADERS" will release on DVD in the 'foreseeable' future, for example next year?

end of "THE MUTATION"--The Trumpet Player was Frank Lisanti; I know him well-
but cannot tell you who he is-Frank Passed away in 1980--along with Jimmy Zito and the rest of
the Dominic Frontiere crew--TOO BAD Chuck(Domanico's) version never took hold-
It was only used ONCE--and then they went back to the sardonic exit theme.
Chuck's was a bit more Pretty--Check it out.

and Harry Lauter (THE INNOCENT)..Not all billed in the end credits but you can go to

of the studio Musicians who PLAYED for the show; but did a small

Harry Lauter was the Lieutenant who was in the foreground when the
Ship landed--and he checked his side-arm after the Robot did his thing!

Which "Invaders" episode featured Peggy Lipton (Julie from ABC's late 60's series "The Mod
Squad"????
She was only on during the first couple of minutes (if that long), had no lines and
Part two of above message: She died immediately thereafter.
FYI - our cable franchise added Sci Fi on January 1, 1995. It was then and only then that
I had a chance to see the entire series since it originally aired on ABC-TV. Its last
run on Sci Fi was January thru the end of March, '95. After that, GONE!!!
I also was fortunate enough to catch the show in syndication during the Fall of 1975. A TV
station from Providence, R.I. was running it on weekends.
Oh well, I'll keep searching for people with that deformed finger on their hand.

Das mag daher kommen das "The Invaders", ungeachtet des 'Kultstatus' der Serie, hierzulande ziemlich 'stiefmütterlich' abgefertigt wurde. "Invasion von der Wega" war nicht die einzige amerikanische Serie die unvollständig ausgestrahlt wurde. "Invasion von der Wega", wie manch andere Serie, wurde wohl damals nur als 'Füllmaterial' für das Programm der Öffentlich Rechtlichen gebraucht. Wie dem auch sei, ich habe mehreren deutschen Sendern vorgeschlagen "The Invaders" ins Programm zu nehmen. Ob und wie viele Andere in Deutschland das Gleiche taten weiß ich nicht, aber die Antworten die ich bekam sind in dem Satz zusammenzufassen: "Gegenwärtig ist die Serie bei uns nicht geplant."

Scheinbar hat auch niemand auf den Fanseiten detaillierte Lizenzrechtliche Kenntnisse. Manchmal liest man auch was von einem angeblichen Mitspracherecht Aaron Spellings, jedoch nichts handfest Nachprüfbares. Jedenfalls habe ich aufgrund des oben genannten Textabschnitts voriges Jahr einen Brief, und keine Email, an Paramount geschrieben und Antwort erhalten. I used some of the photos when I designed the cases for the videos(the cover for issue #3 where VIncent is ho;ding the gun wearing gloves from "Panic"...used that for Volume 7...I scanned the cover for issue #4...nice shot of Roy wearing the "first season" suade jacket that he wore in "The Betrayed" and "The Ivy Curtain", etc...ised that pic and another of the classic saucer landing to make a neat cover for the videos...this cover is based on the classic publicity still of Roy/Vincent running from a landing ship, but in the classic pic he is wearing a white dress shirt, and in mune he is wearing the jacket...wish I could show the coiver here...of course I used the InVaDeRs logos on the cover as well....

northern Sonora, Mexico)..The town portrayed was "Rosario Mexico" but of course wherever that was filmed it was as close to Hollywood as the budget would allow..Any ideas?..Could be a set but then again maybe not..YOU are "the man" in SoCal!

German fans are rare on this page (maybe some read it whithout writing); That is probably because "The invaders" was not recognized as a "cult serie" in Germany and by the way ignored by the channels."Invasion from vega" was not the only serie not entirely shown here.
These series were just used to fill holes in tv programs.
However , I asked a few german channels to schedule the serie (I do not know if other people did it) but the answers were always "It is not scheduled"

People have been posting here in all languages for years. What's the problem? This board is based out of EUROPE. I hate "board cops." I say tupe whatever the hell uoi want about "Les EnVaHiSsEuRs!!!" This fine series has a world-wide fan base. Who has a problem with that?
Ok guys...In terms of a feature film version of The InVaDeRs...Cast ROY THINNES as EDGAR SCOVILLE, the man of financial means and power to assist Architect DAVID VINCENT(played by PAUL WALKER of "The Fast and the Furious"). Also in the cast is LEE MAJORS as likeable GENERAL COLTON WOODS who is aware of the takeover and assists DV. SHANNON DOUGHERTY as ALIEN WOMAN.
For me, the second most unsettling and outrageous murder of a human by an alien was Anthony Eisley's character Bob Torin(next to Vincent's murder in "The Ransom"). Torin's wife had been blown away the episode earlier by the enemies(thanks to Carol Lynly) and then they sadly kill him too. I feel that if LEE MAJORS' role is introduced fairly early on in the story and then he is killed, this would cause an emotional spark in the viewer, as well as the element that sets Vincent off ala his outburst in "The Mutation." I have been working on a storyline for a while, but the only way a script will be taken seriously is if you are a member of the screen writer's guild and if you have sold a script. Don't want to post too much about it, just a main dramatic turning point. Hardly original, but true to the feel and flavor of the well written and acted original series.
Anyone else have any ideas for a big budget feature film version of The InVaDeRs? The first step is to get the show back in the public eye so that tickets are sold...to have a valid and marketable product is the only way that a studio will even consider a proposed project

German fans are relatively rare on this site. The German TV-company ZDF did neglect "The Invaders" (also known as "Invasion von der Wega/from Vega" around here). The show was aired in 1970/71 and only 20 of the 43 episodes. Just once, apart from one episode, which was repeated in 1973 and since then the series wasn't shown at the German television. Presumably, the series was just used as 'filler' at the German television. Nevertheless or astonishingly, a number of people didn't forget the show. It's amazing. Perhaps, for the present-day fans (in Germany) the series has a nostalgic reference to the childood or youth, when they have seen "Invasion von der Wega" for the first time (and this once) at the German TV. I think "THE INVADERS" combined effective gripping elements of another Quinn Martin series, "The Fugitive" (aka "Auf der Flucht" in Germany), and perhaps Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" (German title "Der unsichtbare Dritte") and Don Siegel's "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" ("Die Dämonischen" around here) with a convincing Roy Thinnes in the main part.
A repeat is improbable in the foreseeable future, unfortunately. At the moment, "THE INVADERS" has no chances to broadcast at the German television. I have contacted several German TV-companies per email, a Swiss TV-company too, but nobody's interested in the series. "In the foreseeable future is not planned to broadcst the series". For the fans "THE INVADERS" is a fascinating sci-fi show, for the TV-managements nothing but an old series from the 60s. What a pity. In the foreseeable future there is no way for "THE INVADERS" around here. Well, that's it.
But perhaps the German market could play a part concerning a possible DVD-commercialization of the series. I think/hope there is a potential German market for the show. "Invasion von der Wega" respectively "The Invaders" to stay unused in the archive would be 'business nonsense' (in my humble opinion). But on the other hand, I've nowhere read on a concrete reply by Paramount, apart from my airmail letter - by Paramount Home Entertainment - in 2003. Seemingly nobody has detailed and well-founded knowledge of the licences concerning the original "The Invaders" series, that would be helpful. It's wonderful, fans from different countries communicate on this chat page, but so far there is no 'official' DVD release. What's the problem for the copyright owner? I don't understand this curious company policy. Well, "The Invaders" on DVD, "to be or not to be" that's the question.

THEY ARE ALL GOOD!!! I feel that "THE LIFE SEEKERS" was one of the best for so many reasons...a MUST is to have an alien saucer in the episode...the hypnocrystal...the "Death Disk"...a strong storyline...excellent acting...a bitchin' guest cast...NEW alien contraption...an alien lasergun firing away...the glowing, burning death of an InVaDeR...VINCENT making a major stride towards halting the attackers...a hottie...."TGhe LIfe Seekers" has all of this and MORE!!! In fact, watch the modern "PULP FICTION" from 1994...the main character is named VINCENT and he has a mysterious briefcase that GLOWS....kinda like "KEITH'S" case that glows

Let's face it...The InVaDeRs is "blacklisted" in terms of syndication/video/dvd for a political reason. I have this opinion since I know that other films and series have been taken off of the market such as Walt Disney's "SONG OF THE SOUTH" since it is deemed "racist" by the N.A.A.C.P.(N.ational A.ssociation for the A.dvancement of C.olored P.eople) and thus was banned from video and film distrubution/exhibition. Televison's "Amos and Andy" was also erased for the same reasons. "The InVaDeRs" has a political "red scare" element to it that some have labeled "MCarthyism." The last time that this fine show ran on cable was 1992-1995. The cable deal with the Sci-Fi Channel has been signed long before Clinton and his kind(can you say VINCE FOSTER?) came along. The Hollywood phonies(ala Clinton's gang) are all in cahoots and they know damn that this quality series would wake many a people up...the funny thing is that most folks are already WIDE AWAKE to what's up and "The InVaDeRs" would be a ratings winner if played now in today's world. HollyWEIRD....GET A LIFE

Chance, I saw your comment about blackballing in the media and I couldn't agree more. Censorship of any form in the U.S. is an affront to us all. Try getting a movie like creation of the humanoids aired on t.v at any hour since it deals with a society that mirrors the racist society of americas past with respect to blacksor a movie like Attack with stars jack palance and deals with corruption in the military with respect to political appointments and cowardest of the officers during world war 2. I haven't seen these movies for years on the t.v and I don't think It's because it's too costly to aire them.

Yesterday, My girlfriend, Eunice and I worked the Special Olympics up near Orlando,
Florida--and "BIRTHDAY BOY--CHICAGO ROY(April 6), would get a Kick out of this one:
I was working with these kids--Slightly slow, or physically handicapped--PERHAPS NOT AS
HANDICAPPED AS SOME LAWYERS I WORK WITH--OR HARDLY SOME IDIOTS ON THIS
CHAT-LINE--Who, Frankly are probably the biggest obsticle to Roy Participating with us--
and I came across a Fellow "CHICAGOAN" who asked me, "Hey--where are you from?"
"Chicago," I responded, Proudly--*(As would ROY, I am sure--);
"Where at...?" he asked--"Lawrence and Harlem" I responded--
"Oh, Yeah??" "I'm from Addison and Harlem--"
"Franksville" I retorted--referring to a Great Hot Dog joint on that corner of the New
Little Italy in Chicago--
I then proceded with my girlfriend, Eunice-Who is from Montreal--to the parking lot
to retreive some equipment for the weightlifters--(I am small Like ROY so All 100 pounds of
Eunice needed to help me carry this stuff--), and this Chicago guy(ROY WOULD IDENTIFY WITH THIS-)said, "Man, I can't find a decent Hot Dog here in Florida-"
I shook my head and agreed(somewhat cynically), "Yeah--I haven't had a good hot dog
since I moved to Florida--
He had a Vanity License Tag(Florida, of course) that read "CUB FAN";
needless to day, My girlfriend said, "If you guys love Chicago--and their Hot Dogs so much--
why in hell are you both living in Florida?"
I said to myself--"ROY WOULD LOVE THAT ONE"!!!
PS--I am A SOX FAN---All the Nerds and Suburban(Chicago wannabees) loved the Cubs.

I work with the Benedictine Order of the Catholic church, and I work with Lawyers, too--and
testimonials dinners are in order for those in our respected fields who
are both Emeritus and deserving of our Gratitude, no matter what their contributions
be. I mean, if our Political Parties(respectively, as inept as are both of them)
warrent or even deserve $500.00 per plate dinners to "Honor" some dishonoralbe Crook--

he is just a reserved kinda-guy--and I am sure He would appreciate our

much joy over the years in his Great performance--
Hardly, could they have selected a better actor to play the role of
